Everyday strength looks different for everyone. For us, it manifests as a commitment to our employees, the environment, and our founding philosophy of creating functional products that make life easier. For our community at large, it means many other things.
Just last week, we launched #Strong, a multichannel digital campaign. On social media, we encouraged people to share what strong meant to them and thousands of people entered. We started with off-the-cuff ideas of ‘strong’, like eating 12 donut holes instead of 13, or not engaging with your favorite Facebook friend’s off-the-reservation rant. However, we quickly noticed that people were sharing different visions of strength and we were blown away by their honesty.
People shared stories of overcoming illness and returning home from deployment. Others were tongue-in-cheek about surviving the day in a classroom full of kindergartners, moving cast-iron furniture (alone!), and admitting a mistake to a spouse. After such a rousing response, we decided to explore further.
Just in time for the holiday season, we’re kicking off the second chapter, #WhatStrongLooksLike. People are invited to submit a photo of the person in their life who epitomizes strong for a chance to win $250 gift card to Walmart and a prize pack of our Industrial Strength products. The contest will be hosted on our Facebook page and will run from Thursday, November 6th through Thursday, November 20th. An online gallery will aggregate stories and photos.
We’ve seen a glimpse of how strong our community is. Now, we look forward to putting a face to a name.
